Joy Bryant on the Rachel Zoe's Project

-
-
So the other day I was watching the Rachel Zoe's project...not that I am a fan, but it was on TV and I had to watch it to snap some shots at work before. Anyways, they were dressing this actress and I suddenly thought...I know her...from where? After some thinking I remember that I met her at Chateau a couple of weeks ago and she was telling me and my friends how she moved to LA from New York to be an actress. Her name is Joy Bryant and as I am not that big on the celebrity front, I did not know that she has been in movies such as the Spiderman, Honey and the tv show Entourage. Anyways, i just have to throw it out there that she is so nice and deserve all of her success!

A new year, new adventures!

Recently people have been writing, asking me why I have a password on my blog. The reason is that I have had so much going on and many decisions to make, making it hard for me to have the time to update. Anyways, I will be back within the next couple of weeks...so don't stop checking in...promise.. xxxxxx

Christmas at the Grove

.

Santa's house :)

.

The other day, as the rain was pouring down outside, I went to the Grove to do some last-minute Christmas shopping. The outdoor shopping mall, just across the street from where I live, was so so beautifully decorated that I had to take some pictures.

I wish you all a very merry Christmas! See you in the New Year! xxx

California, here we come....

Saturday morning, rain is falling down outside so we thought it would be perfect to do a roadtrip. So, today we are going to Santa Monica followed by Laguna Beach and OC. I will put up some pictures later. Have a wonderful weekend everyone. xxxx
haha, I just had to take a picture..

Paparazzi, paparazzi

When you leave your house, whether you are going shopping or just out eating...be prepared on that a lot of crazy things might happen. The other day, when going out eating in Beverly Hills we were told that Britney Spears was at the SLS hotel, just next to the restaurant where we were at. I usually don't get too excited when I see celebrities here...but Britney Spears, that is pretty cool! Unfortunately we did not get the chance to see her as the hotel was surrounded by body guards and paparazzis. When returning to our car we met her 5 year stalker aka paparazzi - Filipe Tiexiera who actually follows her everyday! (Sources say they even had a relationship...who knows? It's LA!) Here are some pictures that he showed us.

Life is a beach

Pictures I took last weekend, from the Pacific Highway and Malibu. Don't mind the bad weather! To get here, you have to drive pretty far from where I live (it will take you around 40 minutes without traffic) but once you get here it is so pretty. To me, this is the true California. Last year a stayed in Santa Monica and it was a totally different way of living. With Venice on your left and Malibu to your right, my days were all about going down to the beach, surfing, running along the ocean or going out with my friends in Venice. In other words, totally different from Hollywood. I would love to live here again!

Contacts are Everything

I am over clubs, I am..I really don't see the point. I so much more like to go out to eat, attend events or go to bars such as Chateau or Standard, where you actually can network and create good contacts. Because you do! Whether you are at work (where you assist important people, meet stylists and sometimes talk to editors) travel or meet new friends on your road, I have learnt that it is so important to keep up to date with these contacts. You know what, one day that person you met at that event in New York for example, might just take you straight to where you want to be in your career.

Miss Jay from Americas Next Top Model stopped by the showroom the other week.

Dear Diary..

I decided to keep a diary. Well not an everyday kind, but of things I do that help me reach my dream of becoming an editor. Things I learn at work, from traveling, networking, meeting new people and going to new places. The best part...you might also learn something from it. I start now!

Take pictures. Capture moments. Get inspiration

Snapshot LA..

Powerful! Billboard on Sunset (and all over LA). Long Live the Beatles!

Sunset Blvd. This street runs all the way from Downtown to Santa Monica.

Me at a Guess event for their new winter collection, hosted at the Hollywood Highland

*Jag pa en event for Guess nya kollektion pa Hollywood Highland.

View of the Hollywood sign from Griffith Observatory. This is a good place to go hiking, go running or just to spend some time away from the city.

* Utiskt over Hollywood skylten fran Griffith Observatory.

The Grove, a shopping mall across the street from where I live. The Christmas decorations are so pretty and with Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble songs playing outside - this is a great place to go to if you want it to feel like you're in New York!

This is where I live - in West Hollywood and close to my internship so I very much like it

Happy Holidays everyone! :) xxx

More to come..

East meets West

When I ask people what they like most about LA I always get the same answer..."the diversity!" True! When people ask me if I like LA, I always hear myself giving them the same answer "It's so different from what I first thought, but I have learnt to love it!" And what I love the most about this city is just that: it's anything from what I first thought. And I really have..learnt to love it! Being here for 6 months (Oh my God, it's been 6 months!) I'm starting to know my way around, just the same way as I knew my way around the streets of New York and it's undergrounds. The other night, when driving back from LAX to West Hollywood where I live, I couldn't be anything but amazed by all the flights waiting patiently in the sky on their turn to make their landing. This made me think of how awesome this city really is. The amount of talented people you meet, the opportunities, movies, music and fashion. Whether you're at work, in a class, at an event or a bar, you're always surrounded by talents  (..or what Elle magazine called it in their latest issue; lovely and amazing people!) So the difference then, between New York and Los Angeles I mean. Let me just tell you this, I can't fit it into this article. But I can tell you this; As a writer, New York will always remain my true love.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Me and Christina in our apartment.

Today I received an email from my friend in Sweden who told me that it was snowing so much over there! Cozy! Christmas is on its way and I have had such a Christmas feeling today (even though we don't have any snow in LA).
Have a wonderful Holiday everyone! Warm wishes! xxx

Welcome Christmas, from the Grove
